memories of nursing: an oral history project

Over an active data collection period of 12 months, this project aims to construct detailed oral history accounts of professional nursing practice and the lives of nurses by conducting interviews with approximately 40 RNNH self-selecting and volunteer residents who are likely to have trained as nurses between 1940 and 1970 (approximately) and who are willing and able to tell us about their lives as nurses.

In order to achieve this, professional-quality digital recordings will be made of the interviews, each lasting between 30-60 minutes, on up to five occasions with each interviewee, in order to obtain a comprehensive record of their life stories.
